HEALTH & WELLNESS
The Jamaican Association Of Massachusetts Health and Wellness group will work to promote health equity, or equal access to health resources for all individuals in the Massachusetts diaspora and our country land of Jamaica.
To achieve this goal, we are identifying socioeconomic factors beyond an individual’s control — such as income levels, violence rates, housing, or access to vaccinations or healthy foods — that create risks for certain the Jamaican diaspora population.
We will come up with plans to reduce health disparities and help diasporas improve their community’s well-being. These plans cover issues such as chronic health conditions, infectious diseases, physical health, mental health, social justice, and nutrition.
